One of the most important things in Ty’s life right now is to
spend time with his daughter. He decided they would go for a sail one last time
before taking the boat out of the water for the winter. On the way, they stopped
to fill their vehicle with gas and pick up some snacks. Sunil, who ran the Exxon
station was a good friend to all the guys on the force. Hauck made it a point to
always stop there.
As the lady at the register was ringing up their
purchases, Hauck heard a screech. A red truck jerked to a stop and the tinted
passenger window rolled down. Hauck could not believe what he was seeing. Out of
the window came a protruding barrel of a gun. Hauck yelled for everyone to get
down. The shooting left one bystander dead and Hauck’s daughter injured. What
had just happened? Was Hauck the intended target? Was someone trying to get even
with the storeowner?
Ty soon finds out that there is much more here than
meets the eye. When he starts to put the clues together, Ty discovers he is
involved in a complicated case that is filled with corruption.
Ty is in a
race against time to solve this case because he knows his life, as well as
family members, are in danger. Is he successful?
Andrew Gross is a master
at writing the suspense novel. It is always a special treat to read a book
written by this author. This novel starts off with a bang and keeps right on
going at a rapid pace. The plot is interesting and it will keep the reader
guessing. Ty Hauck is a compelling character. The reader will always know what
he is thinking because he does not hold back on his emotions. If you have ever
read any novels written by Andrew Gross, you will find Don’t Look Twice at least
equal if not better than his previous books.
